Not only were the ribs delicious, the collard greens were not smothered in bacon grease and had a marvelous flavor. If you're not accustomed to Carolina BBQ, get the meat dry and sauce it yourself at the table. Carolina sauces are mustard and vinegar based, and tend to be on the sweet side. I liked the Red sauce best, but the Original Golden was also good. The Hickory reminded me of sweet and sour and the Spicy Golden was just too hot for me. Portions are more than generous, so under-order! I ordered a 4 rib plate for lunch and had 2 ribs and enough okra and collards left over for a satisfying dinner.

This place is just delicious. ..we are Tuesday regulars but have been dining here for years and have never had a bad meal...our service was excellent and our order was correct ..Melvins is a wonderful place and worth the trip.

Chopped brisket sandwich was smoked to perfection, fries were crispy as I ordered them and the tea was sweetened just right. Everything was on point for me.
